Daddy Long Legs is a chamber musical written by  Paul Gordon. The musical is based on a novel by the same name. The setting is turn-of-the-20th century New England and an older orphan, Jerusha Abbott, has had the sudden good fortune to attend college due to the generosity of an anonymous benefactor, Jervis Pendleton. One of the conditions of his gift is that Jerusha must write one letter a month to her benefactor describing her experiences outside of the orphanage and her life in college. It is through the exchange of their letters that we learn more about Jerusha, Jervis, and their relationship.
